Lithuania (Lithuanian Lietuva) is a country in Northern Europe and the southernmost of the three Baltic States. It is bordered to the west by the Baltic Sea and shares borders with Latvia, Belarus, Poland and the Russian Kaliningrad Oblast. Existed as an independent Republic of Lithuania from 1918 to 1940 and after 1990. Lithuania since 1 May 2004 Member State of the European Union Tourists know Lithuania as a country of cities with architectural splendor and ample choice of entertainment. 1. Overview of Lithuania Visa

In 2014, Lithuanian citizens had visa-free or visa on arrival access to 157 countries and territories, ranking the Lithuanian passport 14th in the world but definitely you will require the Visa to Enter Lithuania if you are not the citizen of exempted Countries. 1.1 Visa Exemption:

 Citizens of following countries don’t need a visa to enter in Lithuania.

Note: ?The Citizens of Exempted Countries must have, Diplomatic and Official passport.

? The holder of  UN Laissez-passer is allowed to travel to the Republic of  Lithuania without a visa for more then 90 days within six months.

2. Eligibility for Lithuania Visa

332The  Applicant of Lithuania Visa must have,

? Citizenship of Non-Exempted Counties for Visa ? Enough Money for his Entire Stay ? Fully completed visa application form- with two passport photographs? Have Valid national Passport ? Original of valid Resident visa ? Confirmation letter from your  health insurance stating coverage & one copy- proof ofgroup travel/ hotel booking in Lithuania/ airline reservation for Lithuania & one copy- current bank statement & one copy ? Reference letter from your employer/ education institution if you are visiting for Educational Purpose  

3. Documents Required for Visa of Lithuania:

An alien applying for a Schengen visa shall submit:

1.  Completed and signed Application Form; 2. a valid travel document. 3. A colour photo corresponding to the age of an applicant; 4. A visa fee; 5. Supporting documents:

• Documents indicating the purpose of the journey; • Documents in relation to accommodation, or proof of sufficient means to cover his accommodation; • Documents indicating that the applicant possesses sufficient means of subsistence both for the duration of the intended stay and for the return to his country of origin or residence, or for the transit to a third country into which he is certain to be admitted, or that he is in a position to acquire such means lawfully, in accordance with Article5(1)(c) and (3) of the Schengen Borders Code; • information enabling an assessment of the applicant’s intention to leave the territory of the Member States before the expiry of the visa applied for; • a document, proving the possession of adequate and valid travel medical insurance during the stay(s) on the territory of the Member States. When applying for a multiple entries visa, a document proving the possession of adequate and valid travel medical insurance covering the period of the first intended visit shall be submitted. In addition, an applicant shall sign the statement, set out in the application form, declaring that he/she is aware of the need to be in possession of travel medical insurance for subsequent stays.

NOTE:

Its validity shall extend at least three months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States or, in the case of several visits, after the last intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States.

An Alien applying for airport transit visa shall submit:

1. A completed and signed Application Form; 2. A valid travel document. 3. A Colour photograph corresponding to the age of an applicant; 4. A visa fee; 5. supporting documents: • Documents in relation to the onward journey to the final destination after the intended airport transit; • Information enabling an assessment of the applicant’s intention not to enter the territory of the Member States.

Note:

Its validity shall extend at least three months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States or, in the case of several visits, after the last intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States.

4. Visa Fees and Charges:

Fees and charges

The following fees are charged for issuing visas:

  • Airport transit visa (A) – 60 EUR

  • Transit visa (B) – 60 EUR

  • Short stay visa (C) – 60 EUR

  • Long stay visa (D) – 60 EUR

  • Simplified transit documents (STD) – 5 EUR

 

 

5. Processing time for Issuance of Visa:

 Typically, a visa takes anywhere from 2 days to 15 days to process in the Lithuania Embassy/Consulate depending on the consulate that we need to send the application to and whether you choose to “rush” your Lithuania visa.
